Trillium oostingii 4a each highlighted with an innerTrillium oostingii is a recently named trillium that hails from just a few seasonally flooded sites in Richland County, South Carolina. It was first discovered in 1937, but mistaken for Trillium viride until 2002, when botanist Dr. Chick Gaddy recognized it as something new and after DNA confirmation, named it after the original discoverer, H.
