The temple was built for King Jayvarman VII in the 12th century. There are 431 deities portrayed in the temple, and each were given food, clothes, and sometimes mosquito nets. The photographer of this image is Dr. Martin Hrlimann of Berlin, Germany. His photographs were largely composed of cities and civilizations, and taken mostly with a Sinclair camera.
