Instituted 2 April 1939. (1939 1945 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross PAtte with white enameled arms joined together through the quadrants by sun rays, the obverse with a central white enameled medallion overlaid by a gilded NSDAP style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, in turn
